I think advancing in technology is great. Posting news online gives everyone a convenient opportunity in being updated about everything from politics to health issues since most of us are probably on our computers most of the day. And most importantly, it also saves a lot of money!
Wouldn’t it be cool if your morning newspaper can be delivered via email in a pdf format. You can upload on your ipod, zune and read it during your breakfast and or commute. It’ll save gas, money, time and costs.
Just a thought… =)
Technology is great and I think it is necessary for everyone to get used to it and change to the internet. But I will definitely miss holding a newspaper. I don’t have the money for an iphone so my morning news depends on whatever my mom brings home from her morning run and whether the metro or amny is being handed out when I get off the train. I only have one class in the computer lab in the morning and since it is journalism we are looking at news websites either way. But the other three days of the week I am reading the paper in its original form either at my desk or on the subway. There is a big amount of the population not ready for web only news, whether it is because of preference or monetary costs. While searching archives and articles from previous days makes online great, I’d rather have the ink on my fingertips every morning than have to squint at a tiny phone screen to read a headline!
